There is an increasing support for fasting by the scientific community. There is an over consumption of salt in our diet today than the normal requirements of the body. This can be seen in the increased incidence of water retention in the body, a major factor for hypertension and cardiovascular problems.

           Fasting helps the body "desalt". Fasting can only give benefits. Fasting helps create an attunement with the absolute by establishing a harmonious relationship between the body and soul. It nourishes the physical and spiritual demands so necessary for overall health.

             If you plan to fast this Navratri ensure that it is done the healthy way. It can help detoxify, cleanse your mind and will leave you feeling great.

SOME TIPS TO FOLLOW TO MAKE FASTING HEALTHIER : 😊😊😊

• Eat small meals and do not starves yourself. This will help maintain blood glucose levels and prevent you from feeling low.

• Drinks lots of water and fluids like coconut water, lemon water, green tea and butter milk. You keep yourself dehydrated.

• Use skimmed milk instead of full cream milk.

• Try to bake,roast or grill vegetables instead of deep frying them.

• Curb those evil sugar cravings by eating a lots of fruits, raita, dates, apple kheer, samak rice (savan ka chawal) kheer. Samak rice are extremely easy to digest and can be consumed in any kind of quantity.

• Kuttu is brilliant combination of carbohydrates (70 - 75℅) and protein (20 - 25℅). Use it to make chapati instead of gorging on puris. πŸͺπŸͺπŸͺ

• Amaranth ( chawlai ka saag) is the best protein source you can include during fasting. Make amaranth porridge with milk.🌱🌱🌱

• Substitute sugar with jaggery or honey.🐝🐝

• Combine high carbohydrates like potatoes and sabudana ( widely used in fasting) with other fibrous vegetables.

• Use curd, lassi, and curd with mix fruits.

• You take roasted dal makhana, peanuts, and soaked almonds.
